Colon Cleansing Naturally

Nature intended for your colon to eliminate waste material and bacteria and absorb water and mineral salts while maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance. A colon that cannot perform these functions properly, due to impacted fecal matter creates extra toxins that spread across the body through the absorbed fluids.

Many health problems, including abdominal pain, constipation and lack of energy, can be related to an unhealthy bowel caused partly or largely by eating and drinking products that form a lot of built up waste inside the colon. People consume large amounts of toxic substances daily, including caffeine, sugar, white flour, aspartame, microwave-cooked food, hydrogenated fats and deep fried foods, which results in pounds of unwanted matter forming in colon.

To get rid of these unwanted accumulations colon cleansing is a natural and easy way. There are many colon cleaning changes you can introduce to your lifestyle that you can try right away.

To start the colon cleansing process, you must make certain amendments to your diet. Our diet is generally now full of food which has been changed in many ways from what nature intended. Improvements in nutrition often bring adequate results alone, and the colon starts cleansing naturally. To begin colon cleansing, you must take adequate amounts of fiber, 25-30 grams daily, dissolved in water or in food.

Drinking water is essential for a healthy colon. To stimulate the natural peristaltic action, a person should drink half of his or her weight in ounces of pure non-carbonated water. For example, if your weight is 150 pounds, you should drink 75 ounces of water, which is approximately 2 liters. If you drink enough water and consume a sufficient amount of fiber, your colon will restore its function over time.

Herbs are the great way to perform a mild colon cleansing. Herbal colon cleanse recipes help in removing fecal matter, prevent toxin formation, kill the harmful bacteria and parasites, and improve the function of colon muscles to promote natural and regular bowel movements.

Herbs used in the traditional colon cleansing recipes have been tested for centuries. Basically all herbs in colon cleansing recipes have liver cleansing and cathartic actions. Aloe leaf, senna, cascara sagrada, ginger, and cayenne pepper help eliminate impurities from the colon by stimulating bowel movements. Every herbal colon cleanse recipe includes some sort of a bitter plant that promotes bile flow to cleanse the liver, for example, barberry which stimulates liver and gall bladder. Fennel and garlic have purifying action on the colon bacteria, as they help killing harmful bacteria. These two plants also prevent gas formation.

You can buy colon cleansing herbs in most health stores, follow the instructions on the labels carefully. Many great colon cleansing teas are sold in ready to use packets. Use these in moderation to prevent too frequent bowel movements that can dehydrate you. With time and experience you will learn more and will be ready to make adjustments, increasing or decreasing the herbs according to the desired result.

When performing colon cleanse as a course, continue taking a fiber with your meals in form of wheat germ, oat bran, or rice bran cereals for breakfast. The more lifestyle changes you perform, eating healthy food such as fruit, vegetables, good supplements, and drinking enough water, the more success you will have in returning your colon to a healthy state.

Bronchitis Medicine - Some Alternative Bronchitis Medicines

If you have bronchitis and want to get well quickly, then you might want to take a look at some alternative bronchitis medicines. These medicines are derived from herbs and some eastern philosophy. Many people swear that alternative treatment, when coupled with western medicine, works wonders.

Here are some of the alternative treatments you might want to look into:

1) Aromatherapy - Adding a few scented oils such as eucalyptus or peppermint to a humidifier or vaporizer can help make breathing a whole lot easier for you. Aromatherapy can also help you relax, enabling you to sleep without waking up every five minutes to cough. This means you should be able to reserve your energy for recovery.

2) Herbal tea - Tea is actually very beneficial to someone suffering from bronchitis. Cough is actually caused by irritants in the bronchioles and trachea. By taking in tea, you ease the irritation and inflammation, expanding your airways and easing your breathing. Herbal tea also helps you hydrate, enabling your body to melt down the phlegm and expel it from your body. There are different types of herbs in teas which could also serve to relieve symptoms and kill the virus causing bronchitis.

3) Ginger - Ginger is known in traditional Chinese medicine as a great way to ease coughing and sore throat. There are many ways to take ginger as an alternative bronchitis medicine, but all of them involve having to experience the fresh heat from the root. The first way is actually cutting a piece of the ginger root and sucking on it like a candy. You probably would say no to that. A better way is to boil a bit of crushed ginger root into a tea. You can add a bit of sugar to the resulting brew if you like -the tea is very effective for getting rid of built up phlegm.

4) Acupuncture - Did you know that the World Heath Organization actually has bronchitis on the list of illnesses treatable by acupuncture? By stimulating your nerves, an acupuncturist can help ease your symptoms and give your immune system a huge boost. This alternative bronchitis medicine can certainly inspire awe.

Anti Aging Support Skin Care for Men

Although people like to think that when it comes to anti aging, support skin care is available in a bottle and will provide them with youthful skin and no wrinkles, this is not entirely true. Over the years as people age, wrinkles, scars, and more, are just part of the natural aging process but this has people looking for anti aging support. Skin care is no longer just for women and nowadays, more men than ever are concerned about their skin and keeping it hydrated and younger looking. Choosing a men’s facial cleanser as part of an anti aging support skin care program can seem confusing but always use products designed for men only because men and women have very different skin and needs. First, find out what your skin type is and choose a facial cleanser geared to your skin, whether it is normal, dry, oily, a combination, or for acne. Try to find anti aging support skin care products that contain natural ingredients because chemicals often cause skin problems and irritate the skin.

Anti aging support skin care, shaving products and tips for men help them understand the importance of some shaving basics such as using an aftershave or other soothing product after shaving, but one that contains no menthol or alcohol. Before you shave, use a men’s facial scrub or cleanser to make shaving easier by raising the hairs and always use shaving cream or lubricant. To get a smooth shave use a sharp blade, shave in the direction of the hair taking long downward strokes and not against the hair direction. Some men find that a good anti aging support skin care shaving tip is to do their shaving in a warm shower, which expands their skin and opens their pores.

Keeping your skin hydrated is such an important part of anti aging support skin care, especially in the wintertime when people’s skin becomes dull and dry. To keep your skin feeling and looking great always drink from eight to ten glasses of water daily because your skin, like all your other body organs, requires water. Turn your thermostat back at night, have a humidifier installed to put moisture back into the air, use a moisturizer on your body paying special attention to your heels, elbows, hands, and face, and follow the ten-minute rule, which is putting moisturizer on within ten minutes of finishing your shower. Exfoliating your skin is also a very important part of any anti aging support skin care program. It leaves your face feeling softer and removes dead skin cells so it looks younger and healthier.

Aging Skin Factors and Control

Aging skin is a condition that is impossible to avoid because, as you grow older and your body ages, so does your skin. On the market today are countless products, treatments, and medications that claim to slow down or stop the aging skin process, promising you skin like a baby, but everyone knows that is impossible. One of aging skins worst enemies is gravity, due to the skins weakened elastin fibers and collagen, which causes sagging skin and wrinkles. Premature aging skin can be an inherited weakness or caused by environmental and external factors such as smog, gravity, sun exposure, repetitive facial expressions, and smoking. Looking after and protecting your skin from an early age helps prevent or reduce wrinkles and other aging skin signs, as you grow older.

When going outside, always protect your skin from the suns rays, even on cloudy days. Never sunbathe and try to keep out of direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day, which is usually between ten am and four pm. Some aging skin problems traced directly to sun exposure over the years include skin cancer, age spots, leathery rough skin, face spider veins, a blotchy completion, loose skin, and fine wrinkles. People with a history of sun exposure that have fair skin usually develop more signs than darker-skinned people do. With repeated sun exposure over a period of years, aging skin damage accumulates as the skin gradually loses the power to repair itself. Because repeated exposure to UV rays impairs and breaks down collagen, skin also becomes leathery, wrinkled, and loose at a much earlier age. It is important to apply sunscreen to your skin year round and wear protective clothing when outside during the day, such as long sleeves and a hat with wide brim.

The natural aging skin process known as intrinsic aging usually begins in peoples mid twenties and is a slow, continuous process where skin elastin has a little less snap, and collagen production slows. There is a slight decrease in new skin cell turnover and the shedding of old, dead skin is a little slower but these intrinsic aging skin signs are not usually noticeable for decades. As people age, some of the common intrinsic aging signs include itchy, dry skin; fine wrinkles; transparent, thin skin; loss of firmness in the neck and face areas; and underlying fat loss causing hollowed eye sockets and cheeks. Person’s genes also play a large part in their normal aging process including aging skin. Along with establishing a good skin care regime, people should eat a healthy diet, exercise, and drink eight or more glasses of water daily.

Potent Herbal Ingredients For Treating Heartburn

Heartburn is a health condition that generally affects around 20 percent of people at least once a week. While an episode of heartburn may be a common experience for most , some individuals have heartburn frequently, and regular or constant heartburn could be a symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

According to health experts, This condition can be caused by ingestion of heavy, rich, spicy, diet, heavily laden with ghee or oil. It can also be triggered by eating food hastily. People who drink and smoke heavily also suffer more frequently from heartburn, aside from flatulence, colic and general dyspepsia. Repeated bouts of heartburn may necessitate the need to call in professional medical assistance.

Helpful Herbs For Treating Heartburn

- Chamomile

This herb is known as a relaxant, and an anti-inflammatory remedy that tones up digestion, provided acidity is caused by eating rich foods and stress.

- Lemon Balm

Lemon balm is also a helpful remedy, provided that stress is major cause of complaint.

- Slippery Elm (Ulmus Fulva)

Thiis herbal material helps to soothe the inflamed stomach or gullet and will justify its name by going down, coating and soothing the mucus membranes of digestive system. Mix a TSP in water or take tablets.

- Lavender

Excessive acidity can be reduced through using a hot compresses of Lavender (l0 drops) in a bowl of water and then used. This helps to give almost instant relief from spasm and inflammation which generally accompany hyperacidity or heartburn.

- Lemon juice

Mix lemon juice with a cup of water and add some rock salt to taste. This mixture may be taken 1-2 hours prior to taking meals, or lemon may be used with meals. It also helps to eradicate constipation, which could be one of the major contributors of acidity.

- Fresh Radish

It’s also good to eat lots of fresh radish. For taste you may add carrots and tomatoes but not salt. The chlorine discharged by this vegetable helps to effectively clear the extra acidic contents from the blood. If you like, you must add a little of rock salt to make it more tasty. Drinking juice of radish would also be very helpful. However, you need to drink this juice immediately after extracting it because the gas it has gets lost when kept for long.

How Reducing Stress Also Helps

A study made by the National Heartburn Alliance reported that around 58 percent of frequent heartburn sufferers cited hectic lifestyle as a major factor that contributes to their heartburn, with 52 percent saying that work-related stress makes their symptoms worse. Although some individuals report that stress made their heartburn symptoms much worse, researchers haven’t yet established a direct link between heartburn and stress. We do know that stress can disrupt our normal routines and make us do things, like eat the wrong foods, smoke, drink coffee or alcohol, that may trigger heartburn. Stress also slows down the emptying of the stomach, which may increase the likelihood of heartburn.

For those who are experiencing heartburn, it’s vital to immediately consult with your doctor so you could be properly evaluated, because if this is not treated properly, it may lead to more serious complications such as esophagitis, strictures, esophageal bleeding and ulcers, Barrett’s esophagus, and an increased risk of esophageal cancer.

How Eucalyptus Oil Is Used In Aromatherapy

Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) a tree that was originally native to Australia is now found worldwide and there are now estimated to be in excess 300 species but not all are suitable for producing the essential oil used in aromatherapy. The trees can grow to well over 100mtrs highly scented and oil rich leaves and twigs.

The Aborigines of Australia have for centuries used eucalyptus leaves to cleanse and sterilise wounds and also soothe fevers.

When it was introduced to Africa it was planted in marshy areas where malaria and other infectious diseases were rife, the beneficial affect it had on these areas gave rise to its other name of “fever tree”.

The essential oil produced from the leaves and twigs of the tree by a process of steam distillation has a sharp and fresh lemony scent with a touch of camphor. It blends well with many other oils including cedarwood, lavender, cypress, peppermint, lemon, grapefruit, tangerine and pine.

Eucalyptus oil has many uses as a herbal medicine and as aromatherapy oil. It is a useful decongestant and often used for treating colds, coughs, flu, bronchitis and catarrh conditions. The oil has strong antiviral and antibacterial properties making it popular in sprays used in a sick room environment providing both a fresh pleasant aroma and reducing airborne bacteria. Eucalyptus is known to stimulate the mind and the body particularly the immune system which can help with deterring infectious diseases.

An ideal oil for use in baths, as a room fragrancer, and as an inhalant. When combined with other oils such as rosemary, sweet almond or lavender it will produce a safe warming massage oil that will ease aching joints and muscles.

Some care should be taken when using eucalyptus oil (it is not generally recommended for use on babies) as it can irritate sensitive skins, so it is advised that the correct dilution suggestions are observed.

Omega 3 Complex and Cardiovascular Health

Omega 3 complex benefits our general health and well-being. It has specific benefits related to cardiovascular health. Omega 3 can reduce bad cholesterol levels as well as high blood pressure. It has also been found that people who take Omega 3 regularly or eat fish at least twice a week, are at a reduced for developing heart disease and cardiac arrest.

Fish oil is the single most abundant source of Omega 3 and is very high in both DHA and EPA. Omega 3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids due to the fact that the human body does not make its own Omega 3 complex. As a result, Omega 3 must be obtained from food sources.

Fish oil in its rawest form is difficult to swallow because it has a bad taste and smell. Omega 3 complex is available in a supplement. This supplement is available in both capsule and liquid forms. Omega 3 complex supplements are safe and effective for use by anyone whether or not cardiac problems exist or not.

Omega 3 especially DHA and EPA is important for the prevention of diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, diabetes, and obesity. High cholesterol, high blood pressure and bipolar disorder. Omega 3’s are also required for the development of the nervous system and immune system. They also support proper nerve transmission and improves memory.

Omega 3 fatty acids are recommended often to pregnant and nursing mothers to help ensure healthy pregnancies and healthy babies. They are instrumental in preventing miscarriages and birth defects.. After delivery Omega 3’s help to ease baby blues and post partum depression.

Not all supplements are equal to one another and not all may be safe. To ensure high quality supplements, the supplement should be made with pharmaceutical grade oil. This is fish oil that has been molecularly distilled. This refining process heats the oil to extremely high temperatures to remove toxins and impurities as well as heavy metals such as mercury.

In order to gain the maximum benefits from Omega 3 complex fish oil it is recommended that 3 to 4 capsules be taken daily though not all at once. Liquid supplements are available that are effective for the very young and the elderly, particularly if they have difficulty swallowing pills. It is as safe and as effective as the capsules.

How to Use Foot Detox Pads

There has been a huge surge of interest in the health benefits of foot detox pads recently. They are simple to use, but there is a correct procedure to follow to get the most out of them. Following these simple steps will give you the best chance of a positive result from your foot detox.

Before you go to bed at night you should wash your feet to remove any dirt and skin oil. Pay particular attention to the soles of the feet where the pads will be placed. You should then use an exfoliant to clear the skin of any dead skin cells and open the pores. The skin pores are where the toxins will be drawn through. After completing this step you can wash the exfoliant from the feet and dry thoroughly.

The next step is to take the foot detox pad and apply it to the sole of the foot using the adhesive provided. You may find it easier to put the foot pad on the floor, with the adhesive facing upwards, and then step onto it. Make sure that there is good contact between the skin and the pad to prevent it coming off during the night. You can further minimize this risk by wearing socks over the pads. This will also promote sweating and more toxins will be eliminated.

In the morning you can remove the foot detox pad and dispose of it. Take a note of the color of the pad. When you first start using the product the color will change to dark brown or gray. As you continue to use it the intensity of the color will diminish. Once the color change has stopped you can stop using the pads.

Detox foot pads are a simple and convenient way to stay healthy. Many people have reported feeling better and having more energy by following these simple tips.

The Sweet Benefits of a Holistic Lifestyle

Many people have heard the word “holistic” whether it is referred to holistic health, holistic medicine, or a holistic lifestyle in general. Well, what does the word “holistic” actually mean? In simple terms, it means emphasizing the importance of the whole and the interdependence of its parts. As it relates to one’s lifestyle, it means incorporating different techniques, therapies, nutrition, etc. into one’s lifestyle with the aim of achieving optimal health and wellness as a whole of these combined efforts.

In treating disease, many factors come into play when using a holistic approach to healing. Some of the topics discussed may be the patient’s nutrition, whether or not the patient exercises and how often, emotional stressors that may be affecting the patient, and so on. It is highly believed that all these factors play a role in the whole health of a patient due to the view that the mind, body, and spirit are all connected as one. This holistic approach often keeps patients from having to undergo risky drugs and/or surgery in order to correct their illnesses.

I’d like to mention a few of the different holistic methods whether they are intended to treat an illness, help one attain optimal health, or a combination of both. Some of these methods include accupuncture, accupressure, various forms of exercise, yoga, meditation, energy therapies, massage therapy, and so on. If you are new to this, you may want to start out with 2 or 3 methods and build from there. I would also recommend seeing a licensed holistic practitioner to help meet your individual needs and desires.

With these different methods comes a whole host of benefits to the individual. For one thing, these methods have many mental benefits such as reduced stress, reduced anxiety and depression, lifting your spirits, and overall sense of a better well being to name a few. Since emotional factors are major contributors to one’s physical health, you will most likely see a side benefit of better physical health as well such as lowered blood pressure, reduced “bad” cholesterol with increased “good” cholesterol, a stronger heart, and reduced risk of developing disease, to name a few. And by using holistic medicine such as body cleanses, herbs, and supplements in addition to the other methods can even help one to heal himself/herself of such diseases as cancer, diabetes, and various heart conditions, to name a few. I have heard of people healing themselves of advanced stages of cancer using a variety a holistic medicine and techniques even after their primary medical doctors said there was nothing else that could be done for them and that they only had months to live.

Holistic health is not a fad. In fact, it is increasing in popularity as the years go by. It is my belief that one day, holistic and traditional medicine will combine as one as we get a better understanding of the various forms of healing. We are hoping on the verge of an evolution in the heathcare industry.

The author of this article has implemented various holistic strategies in his own life that helped him have a better overall sense of well being and health. To find out some revolutionary strategies to promote health and healing, visit http://www.self-help-promotions-and-other-products.com
