Holistic Health Programs and You

In this fast-paced world, it’s easy to push our educational plans to the back burner. But if you desire to work in the holistic health industry, you might be surprised at the many holistic health programs that you can complete in less than a year; and in some cases, you can perform your studies from your own home desktop.

Why holistic health programs? As some conventional medicine treatments have the potential to pose serious health risks, individuals have begun turning to holistic health and alternative healthcare remedies to resolve common health conditions.

A typical curriculum in some holistic health programs entails alternative theories in healing, aromatherapy, energy healing therapies, flower essences, holistic fitness and nutrition, hypnotherapy, kinesiology, and life coaching, among others.

Other holistic health programs may be more focused on bodywork modalities, which result in massage therapy certification. In these courses, students learn the healing art of touch, and basic instruction in deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, and sports massage. These particular studies also integrate basic health sciences like anatomy, physiology, and pathology; as well as CPR and first aid.

With popularity growing in natural health sciences, a number of holistic health programs can lead to a degree. For example, if you would like to earn your Associate or Master of Science degree in nutrition or herbal sciences, there are some healing arts schools and colleges that offer course-intensive studies that allow aspiring natural health practitioners to earn valuable credentials.

There are a number of correspondence holistic health programs as well. Today, students can earn their Bachelor’s or Master’s in sciences of holistic health from the comfort of home; or if they choose, can opt to pursue a Doctor in philosophy in holistic health, too.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in learning more about these or other healing arts programs, let professional training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, naturopathy, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Explore holistic health programs near you.

Money As Energy - Anonymous Donor

One of the things about Healing Touch, about which I am most fascinated, is how doing simple techniques at the time of a trauma or in an emergency situation prevents a “full blown situation” from occurring.

I’ve experienced this many times in my own kitchen. I’m a pretty good cook (at least John thinks so!) but I can be a little careless at times. Stirring a pot of boiling soup or spaghetti sauce and having it splash on my hand has not been an unusual occurrence for me. Or burning myself on the heating element because I’m not paying attention and smelling it before feeling it - yikes! But I learned through Healing Touch that the best thing to do in these situations in literally right in our hands - and that is to use our hands to heal. The “key” is in remembering to do it.

I can remember several years ago getting a bad burn when cleaning a coffee pot that was still hot and which shot boiling steam right onto my hand. I immediately started doing Magnetic Passes: Hands in Motion and didn’t stop for about 10 or 15 minutes. The area was still a bit reddened and tender but it didn’t blister like it did when this happened before. I did “hands in motion” on and off throughout that day and the next day there was hardly a trace of what happened - and even the tenderness went away.

That experience anchored my understanding of how, when we intervene energetically immediately after a trauma or a break in the integument of the skin, we can actually prevent the full manifestation of wounding to occur. Therefore, the conventional steps of wound healing, as we know them to be, do not ‘need’ to take place - that process has been accelerated by our work.

Two years ago I was leaving the parking lot of my gym and I witnessed a guy on a bicycle being hit by a car. He flew up in the air and landed on his head and shoulder…and he was not wearing a helmet.

I immediately pulled over and got out of my car, and others who witnessed it ran over to him as well. One of those people was a nurse who was quite efficient - we made a good team. As we did our assessments and called 911, I immediately started doing “hands in motion” over his head - and didn’t stop until the medical team got there.

As a former ICU/Trauma nurse I know a lot about brain swelling - and I thought, if this in any way can minimize any brain swelling for this individual - then I’m going to continue until he gets into the ambulance.

When the ambulance got there I had to stop. I left, never knowing - but then I thought - would we know anything anyway if he was followed? It’s hardly an area that can be well researched, but we know that no harm can be done with a heart centered approach, and based on what we do know - this can absolutely help.

It is such a gift that we have these wonderful tools of our hands to care for ourselves and others in times of trauma. Don’t hesitate to use them when you see or witness an accident, or are around someone in immediate need of assistance. Know that your simple, yet profound, work of Healing Touch can be done.

Money As Energy - Addition by Subtraction

Much can be added to our lives, our work, and our pocketbooks by removing or eliminating certain things. Eliminating the barriers to success makes sense, but this means getting rid of things that we think are adding to our lives but are not - like certain relationships, activities, even jobs and educational undertakings.

We find that when life circumstances occur — losing a job, going bankrupt, or having a lover walk out — we always look back and see the great gifts that experience brought us and the doors that it opened. When it happens “to” us we frequently knew it was coming. We might even experience a sense of relief - as if our higher selves acted on our behalf - because we couldn’t consciously do it ourselves.

When we can “consciously extract” from our life, meaning when we remove things out of conscious choice, benefits will pour in.

The ultimate extraction is that of ourselves and our ego-centered agenda. When we can take ourselves out of the equation and stay connected to intentionality, the heavens open and abundance becomes a normal state of being. It’s about being present, clear, and unattached to the outcome.

Much like in Healing Touch, when we as healers get ourselves out of the way with the work, miracles happen. To help with abundance consciousness, I want to caution you about the word “sacrifice”. As we give of ourselves and get ourselves out of the way we needn’t think of it as sacrifice. That perspective has potential to be self-defeating and does not lead to abundance. The definition of the term sacrifice is “to surrender or give up, or permit injury or disadvantage to, for the sake of something else” Taking ourselves out of the equation is not about sacrifice, it is about creating an energetic opening for the greater good of all - and that includes us.

Another way “removing the self from the equation” can help in Healing Touch is when instructors and mentors allow the successful emergence of students and mentees, even when it is in their local market. Empowering healers as they grow, grooming them for leadership, mentoring them through instructorship, and watching them blossom as you step out of the way feeds the greater good, offers abundance for all, and proliferates the good work of Healing Touch worldwide.

Ripping The Mask Off Of The Vaccination Issue

Mainstream medicine hails the benefits of being vaccinated as the only way to protect yourself or your children from disease; that vaccination is always effective and responsible for the low disease rates we enjoy today. These statements are given the authority that only billions of advertising dollars can deliver. The more an “apple” is labeled a “pear”, may be believed by many but it certainly does not transform the apple into a pear.

However, for those who are victims of vaccination side-effects or educated as to vaccination’s true face, this hypnotic advertising dribble no longer holds any weight.

Yes, parents do want to protect their children from illness and vaccination seemed like a good idea at the time. But we now know that this form of protection is not the answer, especially when death is a possible side-effect.

I was forced to research this issue more thoroughly when my granddaughter, who had never been vaccinated, was forced to take this toxic cocktail in order to attend school after moving to a new State. At 9 years old, she enjoyed excellent health and was vaccine free. This State is one of only 2 that does not allow philosophical or religious exemptions.

I knew that I had to find a way to counteract any side-effects the coming injections might produce. That’s when I discovered that one could easily and affordably reduce/remove these toxins from the body. The key here is “affordably”.

Fortunately, more parents are now opting for an alternative approach when it comes to disease prevention.

Natural ingredients and methods are now available to give the informed parent the choice to cleanse and prevent disease. Thanks to these methods, my granddaughter is still in excellent health even after having to “catch up” to the other children’s immunization records.

Marie Leonard is a publisher and alternative health care provider with 14 years of experience. She had to recently find an answer to forced vaccination for her granddaughter to save her from the side-effects of poisons being injected in her body. What is Reiki?

Reiki - A Whole Lot of Unconditional Love

Reiki energy is pure energy. Simply put, it is energy healing. The word Reiki is made up of two parts, “REI” pronounced “RAY” means spiritual or all-encompassing and “Kl” pronounced “KEY” means energy, or the life force energy within. It is the life force that exists in all things. Without it, we die.

Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-intrusive hands-on healing technique for use on yourself or with others, which uses spiritual energy to treat physical ailments without using pressure, manipulation or massage.

However, it is much more than a physical therapy.

It is a holistic natural healing modality which uses universal life force energy to restore balance, to heal and to harmonize all aspects of the person - body, mind, emotions and spirit - and it can also be used to encourage personal and spiritual awareness and growth.

What do you mean “energy”?

Energy is a constant give and take. One example to illustrate this is: you put money into a savings account and it grows with interest, give and take. Just like a dam of water with no movement becomes stagnant, smelly and mosquito ridden; so the energy in the body also requires constant movement, or it becomes stagnant and sick.

Einstein and later quantum physicists have explained that at an atomic level everything that exists in the Universe is energy, vibrating and oscillating at different rates; that physical matter and energy are just two forms of the same thing.

So this proves that energy is all there is. All is energy - including you.

How is Reiki Practised?

The Reiki practitioner has learnt through his or her teacher where the hands should be placed. The hands do not necessarily touch the body and often the hands are about 10 cm above the body.

Reiki is simply a means of transferring energy and as Reiki involves directing the natural flow of universal life force energy, it can best be likened to recharging a battery.

When a battery’s energy supply is low, it doesn’t function well. By introducing a charge to it, it can once again run on its own. Reiki works much the same way. If you are suffering from an illness (physical, mental, or spiritual), your energy supply is lessened, Reiki works to assist you in bringing your energy level back up to its natural flow, thereby enhancing your own natural healing powers.

Reiki is a beautiful energy that feels like a whole lot of unconditional LOVE!

Five Powerful Strategies For Turning Your Healing Arts Practice Into A Thriving Business

5 Powerful strategies for turning your Healing Arts practice into a thriving Business.

Do you have a gift in the Healing Arts? Do you want to make a thriving business using your gifts as a healer?

Strategy # 1 for a thriving Healing Arts Business: Identify you life purpose. What are your unique gifts and abilities?

Strategy # 2 for a thriving Healing Arts Business: Discover the power of quality collaboration. Make alliances. Seek support. Are you a solo practitioner? Are you a lone wolf trying to attract clients from within your den?

Strategy # 3 for a thriving Healing Arts Business: Practice the art of being and staying in balance. All you all work and no play, or the other way around?

Strategy # 4 for a thriving Healing Arts Business: Make peace with your areas of resistance. Are you allowing your fears and “yes-buts” to stop you?

Strategy # 5 for a thriving Healing Arts Business: Be clear on your vision. Are your intentions and actions congruent with your goals?

More information on strategy # 1: Why is knowing your life purpose so important? Because you want your ideal clients to choose YOU amongst all the other practitioners who offer the same services. Knowing your unique talents enables you to create a niche. Not sure why else your clients come to you? Ask them. Elicit responses (and validating testimonials) by asking questions like: What were your expectations when you came to see me the first time? Did you experience an effect (during of after our session) you were not expecting?

More information on strategy #2: Remember the warning in publicity ads: “Don’t try this at home”? This applies here. Don’t try to do it all alone. Please don’t. Connect with other practitioners and groups who share your passion and vision. Join professional networks, like your local Chamber of Commerce. Make yourself visible beyond your familiar circle of influence. Trade your services with a business coach or a tax preparer. Seek collaborators. Go forth and cross-pollinate.

More information on strategy # 3: Do you work too hard? Do you charge enough? Do you allow others to determine the value of your Tarot Readings or Massages? Or do you perform your services for free? Do you remember to eat? Do you exercise enough? Do you find yourself bogged down in the details of running your business or are you watching too much TV? Are you procrastinating when it’s time to make follow-up calls or managing your contact system? A thriving business depends on you being healthy and whole. What would a well-balanced day (income generating as well as attending to the needs of your body/mind/spirit) look like? On a sheet of paper divided in two columns, one for Being, one for Doing, create a day with that ideal “flow”.

More information on strategy # 4: Know what you are resisting or it will resist you. Do you know what your “yes-buts” are? Does your “Negative Nelly” talk you out of taking action? Are you staying in a dead-end job, furthering someone else’s vision, in exchange for a sense of security? You don’t have to do this all at once. Enlist an accountability buddy. Create an “incentive program” for yourself; reward yourself for stretching out of your comfort zone.

More information on strategy # 5: What fuels your passion? Are you clear on your goals? Where do you see yourself 5 -10 years form now? Set your intentions. Give your vision attention. This goes beyond: “It would be nice if… or: Some day, I will do this”. This is about taking steps NOW (they don’t have to be giant ones) toward your goals. Write them down in the present tense. Share them with fellow Healing Arts practitioners. Protect your vision. Recognize the nay sayers in your world. Limit your contact with them. Surround yourself with positive, pro-active people.

Traditional Healing From Nontraditional Methods

Since the very beginning of the human race there have been healers. Throughout the centuries every culture around the world has formulated its own form of medicine and practices to cure the ills of its people. Traditional Chinese Medicine for example, focuses not on specific physical body parts, but instead on the purpose and function of those parts. Many people hold to the belief that these time-honored and indigenous practices have no place in a modern society with its technological advancements and scientific breakthroughs. The simple fact remains though, that a large percentage of people around the world have no access to modern medicine. They rely solely on ancient healing techniques to keep themselves and their families healthy. Is it possible that our modern society has become so advanced that we have lost touch with some of the most basic and simple healing practices in favor of over-medicating our bodies into submission?

Going Back to our Roots

Like the Chinese, the Native Americans have long held to the belief that the spirit is an absolutely essential part of the whole of the human being and is therefore a necessary ingredient in its overall health and well being. Spirituality has been a key part of the healing process throughout most of history; it is only in these “modern” times that society has pushed it aside as secondary and unnecessary. In fact, Native American spiritual practices were banned in the United States and until the American Indian Religious Freedom Act was passed in 1978, people were threatened with incarceration if they were to even be caught in attendance at a healing ceremony. The example of the Native Americans is not the only such instance of a society turning its back on its very roots. The Chinese acted in a similar fashion, banning the use of Classical Chinese Medicine for well over thirty years until the 1960s.

Old v/s New

While modern science has indeed made great strides in many ways toward repairing and healing the human body and has even embraced a great many schools of thought when it comes to issues of the human mind, it has yet to fully accept that there is indeed a real connection between the two. Mind and body are treated as separate entities instead of parts of the whole. The common bond shared among centuries old wisdom around the globe has been put aside and scientific fact has been put in its place.

Today, the practice of such things as meditation, yoga, traditional native healing, Sufi Healing and Chinese medicine have found sanctuary under the broad-spectrum umbrella of Holistic Medicine. The healing methods of the Buddhists, Shamans and others are finding their way back into a society who hungers for answers they are not receiving from modern scientific research. Still, finding reputable and well trained practitioners can be a challenge in today’s civilized cultures.

Holistic Solutions through DVDs

The Center for Healing Arts is an organization that was created to help individuals who are looking for something that modern medicine does not give them - specifically an opportunity to learn and work toward mending the mind, body and spirit and realizing that they are all integral parts of what make us a whole and healthy being. Through a subscription based educational program, the Center offers DVDs on a variety of holistic healing practices ranging from Yogic Healing and Sufi Healing to Shamanism and Kabbalistic healing. The programs are taught and facilitated by renowned experts in their fields and provided to subscribers every other month for them to view and practice in the privacy of their own homes. Through their online community, subscribers can find like minded seekers and practitioners from around the world to share information and support with.

A Visualization for Healing

I have used this visualization with many cancer patients over the years. Everyone has a different experience with it but my experience is that most people are able to access this place. I suggest that you visualize yourself traveling to an inner healing temple. Whether you believe that these places exist or not, really doesn’t matter. It’s an exercise and a powerful and effective one. In this inner healing temple there are many different healing masters. Those who are most able to help you will come to your assistance.

Illness is not something to get rid of. It’s our greatest teacher. Healing is not about curing, it’s about allowing ourselves to grow spiritually. Illness is one more way to experience life’s lessons. Instead of attempting to rid yourself of whatever you are suffering from focus on “healing”. Healing allows the deepest and darkest issues to come to the surface. That’s never an easy task. Healing takes bravery, courage, strength and perseverance. Healing is a process and throughout our lives we get into the next layer and the next layer and the work is never done.

In our visualization, we enter this beautiful and serene healing temple. There are quarters, areas designated for different illnesses. Find your place among the many other seekers. Find your own group of healing masters to work with. Imagine that you’re lying on a stone slab. The healing masters are surrounding you and supporting you. Remember, the goal is not to be cured or to rid yourself of this experience. You must go through it and experience all the feelings that go with the process in order to release it. There are no short cuts. Feel the presence of these healers around you. Learn from them, listen to what they’re trying to tell you.

Thetahealing - Is It Right For You?

Like chess, it is easy to learn the rules of ThetaHealing™ yet takes diligent practice to really master the skill.

ThetaHealing™ is often described as an attainable life-altering miracle. It is a method of supercharged meditation and prayer that teaches you how to utilize the fundamental creative life energy of the universe to change limiting conscious and subconscious beliefs, to read what is going on inside the human body, to perform physical and emotional healings, to download teachings about anything, and to manifest anything you wish in your life. It is an incredibly powerful, easy to learn, and versatile modality-the Swiss army knife of all healing methods.

Although ThetaHealing™ is based on the latest interpretation of the universe’s operating principles, it has been used in various forms for millennia under various names. In its current form, it has been developed and utilized since 1995 by Vianna Stibal, who cured herself of terminal lymphatic cancer after the universe revealed this technique to her. She went on to heal tens of thousands of others while teaching classes to many more. There are now over 30,000 ThetaHealing™ practitioners worldwide and more than 1,000 ThetaHealing™ instructors. (See Vianna’s website, the home of ThetaHealing™, ThetaHealing)

Vianna continues to make exciting developments in ThetaHealing™ that are reflected in the five courses she teaches: Basic DNA, Advanced DNA, Manifesting and Abundance, Rainbow Children, and Intuitive Anatomy. A new course, DNA 3, will be unveiled in 2008. I am a certified Advanced ThetaHealing™ practitioner and a certified instructor in all of these current courses except Intuitive Anatomy (and I will get this certification soon!)

Theta gets its name from the Theta brainwave, which vibrates at four to seven cycles per second. This is the state you’re normally in at night when you’re first dreaming and also when you’re in deep hypnosis or having a profound experience of oneness with nature. It is a state in which you can have easy access to the contents of your subconscious mind and are also more fully connected to the basic life energy of the universe.

ThetaHealing™ is based on the discovery that you can go into the Theta brainwave while remaining awake and then you can (with the help of the creative energy of the universe) see what is going on inside your body as well as produce profound changes in your subconscious beliefs, in the health of your body, in what you know and how you feel, and in what you manifest in your life.

ThetaHealing™ acknowledges that our beliefs generate our reality. They are magnetic forces that attract or repel things from us. The Law of Attraction, popularized by the movie and book “The Secret,” states that the imagination of sensory detail of our future life and of the things that we wish to have in our life actually causes their manifestation—because the universe attracts for us all things that are in harmony with the mental and emotional energies of our projection.

This is not a theory; it is a law of the (energetic) universe. Like energies attract like energies. Create energy with your mind, and the universe “answers” with the same kind of energy. The better you craft your energetic ideas, the more elaborate the universe’s response will be.

The catch is, our subconscious mind puts out energy of enormous magnitude, dwarfing whatever dreams, wishes, and plans our conscious mind projects. Crippling and limiting beliefs in the subconscious prevent us from manifesting what we consciously want. Therefore, however inspiring it may be, it is not enough to watch The Secret or to read the book version-and the dozens of other books published on this basic law of nature-unless you access and improve the contents of your subconscious mind.

This is one of many reasons why ThetaHealing™ is so profound. What is nice is that it is also easy and fast.

How is ThetaHealing™ performed? There are many processes, but the most basic one is outlined below to give you a general idea. (However, you will not be able to perform this on your own without further training as I mention only the high points and without giving you the hands-on instruction, which is not possible to do here!)

First, you identify any limiting subconscious beliefs you may have through energetic testing. Most practitioners find muscle testing of your body to work well.

Second, you meditate briefly in a particular way to “ground” your energy. Most people find this easy to do.

Third, you (if you have been trained)-or your Theta practitioner-enter into a conscious Theta brainwave and energetically travel to the source of the creative energy of the universe.

Fourth, you command a change in the subconscious beliefs, feelings, knowledge, or health state of the treatment subject, being careful to use appropriate positive word choices and phrasing.

Finally, you actually witness the transformation of the subject’s subconscious programs taking place!

It can be a reading, a teaching, a belief change, a manifestation, or a healing that the therapist commands and witnesses. These components of this process are all discussed further below.

Would you like to hear more? Then let me tell you of my experiences with ThetaHealing™.

The Essential Oil of Cajeput - An Oil Held in High Regard in the East

Cajeput (Melaleuca cajeputi) is in the myrtle family. The oil is one of the melaleuca trees that grow wild in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Java, Australia and southeastern Asia. The oil today comes from Australia where steam distillation is used on the fresh leaves and twigs. This is a tall evergreen tree that grows up to 98 feet in height. It has thick pointed leaves and white flowers. It uniquely has a flexible trunk with whitish, spongy bark that flakes off easily. Traditionally cajeput in the East is was used for colds, headaches, throat infections, toothache, sore and aching muscles, fever, rheumatism and various skin disease. It was used in the herbal tradition to produce a sensation of warmth and quickening of the pulse. Native peoples used it for chronic laryngitis and bronchitis, cystitis, rheumatism and to expel roundworms.

How Can We Benefit from Cajeput Essential Oil Today?

Today we observe cajeput to have antibacterial, antiparasitic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It is used for throat, lung, and sinus infections, for urinary tract infections, coughs, and intestinal problems. Cajeput can be taken internally by diluting it 50-50 with a vegetable oil, it can be diluted 50-50 and applied on location, on the chakras/vita flex points, it can be directly inhaled, or diffused. Cajeput mixes well with wintergreen, eucalyptus radiata, juniper and peppermint. As for safety, cajeput is non-toxic, non-sensitizing but it may irritate the skin in high concentrations. Caution is advised to make sure you do not have synthetic cajeput since it may cause blistering and skin eruption.
