60 Minutes Report on Hoodia

With all the excitement surrounding it, from the mysterious about how Hoodia only grows in its native soil in the Kalahari Desert, to the intrigue over the corporate giants that continue to fight over the ownership of the lands where it grows, it’s no wonder a big American network caught up to the Hoodia story and wondered what make it work.

The 60 minutes report on the effects of Hoodia was very complimentary. It started off telling the viewer that the American public spends on average a staggering $40 billion a year on products designed to help them slim down and that there were not many supplements that were able to work without any side effects. Hoodia seemed to be one of them.

The report also opened with the fact that many of these drugs have been identified as dangerous because of their side effects but that’s not the case with Hoodia. Lose 7.7 Pounds This Month With Only 3 Workouts of 6 Minutes Each Week

Long, boring cardio sessions are outdated and harmful for weight loss. The reason is simple. Those sessions eat your muscle tissue. This is bad because muscle tissue is 9 times more metabolically efficient as compared to fat tissue.

What this means is you burn off less fat if you lose muscle… and losing muscle is what you do when you run on the treadmill or ride a stationary bike for a long time. Now I have some good news for you. I can show you how to burn about 8 times more fat than running on the treadmill forever… and you’ll achieve that in about 10% of the time.

Studies have proven that just 3 quick 6-minute sessions can net you a loss off up to 7.7 pounds in just 1 month.

Interested in how it works?

It’s called HIIT… short for high intensity interval training. A high intensity interval training session involves several short maximum intensity efforts that are separated by moderate recovery intervals.

Here’s an example.

Get on the stairstepper after you’ve warmed up your body. Now, crank up the speed to as fast as possible and you do that for just 10 seconds. It’s harder than you think.

Next, use the button on the stairstepper to lower the speed to a moderate level so you can continue to stairstep… but at a much slower pace. This is called an “active rest”. You do this for 10-30 seconds depending on your conditioning.

Are you with me so far?

After that, continue repeating that cycle of intense all out effort with a slower effort. For a beginner, you can start out going as fast as possible for 10 seconds and resting for 30 seconds. This will give you 9 total cycles of 10 second bursts and 9 cycles of 30 seconds to actively rest while still exercising on the stairstepper.

So in 6 minutes, you would have only worked hard for 90 seconds. The other 270 seconds are for the most part, easy. After a few sessions of this cycle, you should gradually reduce your active rest times. Eventually you’ll want to get it so you are doing 18 intense bursts of 10 seconds and 18 active rest cycles.

Remember, this is just an example.

The great thing about HIIT is that you can do it with just about any exercise. Works great on the elliptical machine, stationary bikes, and rowing machines. You can do it with running as well. Run as hard as you can for 5 seconds and follow it up with 15-20 seconds of walking. Keep repeating until you’ve done 6 minutes.

The reason this burns off fat better than cardio is because HIIT increases the resting metabolic rate for up to 24 hours after the session.

Translation…

Your body is in an accelerated fat burning mode for 18-24 hours after your HIIT session. That’s where you get the weight loss benefits… after the session, not during it. Unfortunately, typical 30-60 minute slow-paced cardio sessions don’t create this “afterburn”. Once you stop the cardio session, your fat burning is done.

So stop with the long cardio sessions and do HIIT. You can lose up to 7.7 pounds in less time than it takes to watch a movie… 72 minutes of exercising for the month. Not a bad investment in your time.

Lose 3 Pounds in 1 Week Without Leaving Your House

Let’s face it, you’re a busy person. We all are. You can’t always get to the gym. Well, the truth is… you don’t need the gym to lose weight. You can lose all the weight you want in the comfort of your own home.

It requires you to do just 1 simple exercise. The best part is, I’ll show you how to do this exercise without “wasting” precious minutes of your day. I’m going to fit this right into your busy schedule so that you have no excuses not to do it.

I’ll quit teasing you and get to the good stuff.

The exercise is jumping on a mini-trampoline. I think of this as my secret weapon. This is probably the last piece of equipment I would give up if I was forced to get rid of everything. Now, if you don’t already have a mini-trampoline, expect to pay about $25 for it. But hey, consider it an investment.

So what is so great about this mini-trampoline jumping and how do I fit it into my busy schedule? It’s great because it’s a total body exercise. Every part of your body gets worked. Nothing is neglected.

Another benefit is that no other exercise can stimulate your lymph flow as good as jumping on a mini-trampoline. During weight loss, your body tends to cleanse itself. If you don’t have a strong circulation of your lymph, toxins can accumulate and build-up… both in your lymph and your blood. With a stronger lymph flow, you won’t feel as tired and sluggish as you once did.

There are about 20 other reasons I can get to about why mini-trampolines are great for weight loss… but I’ll just state one last one. It reduces your chances of injury. Most overweight people are in poor condition. It’s unwise for them to go “crazy” with exercises trying to lose weight at the start of getting back into shape. With mini-trampoline jumping, there’s really not much to worry about. You’re barely jumping up 1 inch when you’re jumping.

You’re mostly just moving your heels up and back and forth… from left to right. Not much jumping is involved. So it’s low impact and kinda fun. Now, after all of that… this is the best way to use your mini-trampoline. No matter how busy people are, they still rest and relax somehow. Usually, they rest watching tv.

So if you watch at least 1 hour of tv each day, here’s my challenge to you. Use the commercials to jump on the mini-trampoline. During a typical 1 hour tv show, you can expect to have 22 minutes of commercials. So every time a commercial comes on, get jumping. You can lose weight without getting sweaty. What’s better than that?

After 1 hour, you would’ve done 22 minutes of exercise and not interrupted your schedule. Heck, you don’t even need to do it all during 1 tv show. Break it up into 2 minute sessions throughout the day whenever you get some free time.

Simple, right?

If you do 22 minutes of mini-trampoline jumping each day for 6 days, you can expect to lose up to 3 pounds of weight within a week. So give it a try. You have nothing to lose except sitting through dumb tv commercials.

Lose Weight With 2 Foods That Cost Only 88 Cents

If you’re clueless when it comes to your diet, I’m going to give you 2 cheap foods that will almost guarantee you’ll lose weight… if you eat them everyday. So if you can afford a whopping 88 cents a day and you have an open mind, I’ll have you dropping pounds within 4 days.

These 2 foods actually come in a can… and they’re healthy for you. Most things in cans aren’t healthy for you. Anyway, I have a 4 day challenge for you. It’s very simple and it’ll prove to you that you’ll lose weight eating these 2 foods everyday. Here’s the challenge.

Go to Wal-Mart or wherever you get your food from. I’ll use Wal-Mart as an example because that’s where I get my food from. Now go down the aisle that has beans in it. Are we good so far? Great. Now pick up 4 cans of the “Great Value” black beans and 4 cans of the “Great Value” black eye peas. They cost 44 cents a can. You’re going to be eating 1 can of each for the next 4 days. I’ll give you 4 reasons why these 2 foods are great for weight loss.

The first reason is because they’re high in fiber. One can of black beans contains 25 grams of fiber. That’s the recommended amount each person should have in a day… and that’s in just 1 can of black beans. How awesome is that!

Most Americans are lucky to get 12 grams of fiber in a day. To be clear… a high fiber intake almost forces you to lose weight. That’s pretty much common knowledge these days. The can of black eye peas contains 17.5 grams of fiber. So between them, you’ll be getting over 40 grams of fiber a day. Perfect!

The second reason these are great for weight loss is because they’re high in protein. A can of black beans has 25 grams of protein. The can of black eye peas has 35 grams of protein. 60 grams total. Over half of what you need each day.

By now, you should know that high protein, low carb diets work for weight loss. They’re sometimes hard to stay with over the long term, but I’m not asking you to go strictly on a high protein, low carb diet. All I’m doing with these 2 foods is easing you into the right direction.

The third reason black eye peas and black beans are great for weight loss is because they’re low in carbs and calories. If you look at the back of the cans, you’ll see that each serving has 19 or 20 grams of carbs. But most of those are fiber so you don’t need to count those grams. You’ll end up with a “net” of 12-15 carbs per serving. But get this. There are 0 grams of sugar in those “net” carbs. So you’re sitting pretty.

Now the calories… the labels on these cans are misleading. But they’re misleading to your benefit actually. The labels actually count the fiber calories. You don’t have to count them since they don’t get digested.

So a whole can of black beans will only count as 285 calories. The can of blackeye peas has only 385 calories. With all of that protein and fiber, you won’t be very hungry after eating. These 2 foods will help eliminate your snacks and “crowd out” bad calories from other foods that you’ll naturally eat less of now.

The 4th reason is that they’re easy to cook. Throw them in a small pot and cook them for less than 5 minutes. Voila. They’re done. Just strain out the water. Quick and easy. Just what I like. Now, here’s a simple diet plan to follow.

At breakfast, eat 1/2 can of black beans with 2-3 eggs scrambled. If necessary for taste, use a touch of sour cream or barbeque sauce (if you don’t particularly like the taste of black beans). But remember, not too much. Just a touch.

At lunch, have a salad with basically any vegetables that you want. Add 1 can of water-packed tuna and then throw 1 can of blackeye peas in there. Mix it up and enjoy. For dinner, have a lean meat and the leftover 1/2 can of black beans.

It’s as simple as that to lose weight. Seriously, it is. Try it for 4 days. In 4 days you’ll have proof that it works.
